Premium spirits distributor Monarq Group has formed a strategic partnership with Cazcanes Tequila. The deal, announced in August 2026, will see Monarq handle distribution for the brand across more than 40 markets in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, as well as in Mexico and U.S. duty-free shops and the cruise channel. This expansion mirrors how a top football club might use its global fixtures to build an international fanbase.

According to a statement from the companies, this partnership significantly expands the international footprint of the ultra-premium tequila. Monarq's CEO, Robert de Monchy, said the brand aligns with what premium tequila consumers seek.

"We are excited to welcome Cazcanes to the Monarq portfolio," de Monchy stated. He highlighted the brand's authenticity, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality.

Expansion Strategy

The focus will be on building the brand with craft consumers, leading retailers, premium bars and restaurants, and travel retail operators throughout the region. Monarq sees a significant opportunity to extend Cazcanes' U.S. success into these new markets, aiming for a dominant position much like a team at the top of the league standings.

Jeff Kozak, President of Cazcanes Tequila, explained the rationale behind the move. He said the partnership with Monarq represents an important next step in their intentional growth plan.

"Expanding across the Caribbean, Central and South America, along with Mexico and U.S." Kozak noted. He credited Monarq's experience and market understanding as key factors for protecting the brand's integrity during expansion.

Product Profile

Cazcanes Tequila is crafted from organic Blue Weber agave and volcanic spring water from Navichi Springs in Jalisco, Mexico. The production emphasizes low intervention, intentional complexity, and respect for the agave's natural character.

Partnership Goals

The brand offers a collection of organic tequilas that explore different aging, blending, and strength profiles. This range will now be more widely available through Monarq's distribution network, including on cruise ships sailing in the covered regions.

The partnership aims to establish Cazcanes as a leading ultra-premium tequila in these markets. Both companies expressed excitement about building the brand's presence and laying a foundation for continued international growth. The deal directly connects a craft tequila producer with the extensive cruise channel and duty-free retail landscape of the Americas.
