Harmony of the Seas Burst Pipe Floods Deck 10 Cabins
A burst pipe flooded passenger cabins and a corridor on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas on September 29, 2026.

A burst pipe flooded several cabins and a corridor on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas on September 29, 2026. The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. on the fourth day of a five-night Western Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, as the ship neared its scheduled call in Cozumel, Mexico.
Passenger Kendra captured video of warm water flowing like a river down the carpeted hallway on Deck 10. The water was hot enough to steam up her phone during recording. She identified the affected balcony cabins as numbers 10321 and 10319, located in the ship's aft overlooking the Boardwalk neighborhood. Kendra, who has taken 92 cruises, shared the footage on Facebook around 8:00 a.m. EST. "That’s a first for me in 92 cruises!" she said. She reported no injuries from the hot water.
Crew response and damage control
Crew members responded rapidly to the flooding. In a follow-up post roughly two hours after her initial video, Kendra shared an image showing a water-free hallway. The soaked carpeting inside the affected stateroom had already been removed, and drying equipment was deployed. She praised the crew's swift and effective handling of the situation, noting they were checking on passengers. The passenger stated, "Less than two hours after the flooding on Harmony of the Seas, the carpet has already been pulled up in the affected room."
Official status and broader context
Royal Caribbean has not publicly commented on the cause of the broken line or the extent of the damage. No alteration to the ship's itinerary has been announced. Harmony of the Seas, a 226,963-gross-ton Oasis Class vessel, departed Port Canaveral on September 26 and had called at Perfect Day CocoCay the previous day. It is scheduled to return to Port Canaveral on October 1, 2026.
This incident adds to a recent pattern of similar water system issues across the cruise industry. In July 2026, a viral video showed a room flooded by an apparent burst pipe on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas. Princess Cruises' Enchanted Princess experienced a burst pipe on multiple decks in May 2026. Earlier in the year, MSC Cruises' MSC Seaview and P&O Cruises' Azura also dealt with cabin floods from burst pipes.
Online commenters noted that mechanical issues are a reality on complex ships. Veronica A. McCall remarked that constant mechanisms mean something is bound to break. Thomas Dunsheath emphasized that the response matters when things go wrong. Another traveler, Lori Mazzola-Martinez, expressed hope for a quick fix as she was scheduled to sail on Harmony of the Seas later that week. Harmony of the Seas is scheduled to return to Port Canaveral on October 1, 2026.
