MSC opens 2027/2028 South America cruise

MSC Cruises has opened bookings for its 2027/2028 South American summer season, which will run from December 2027 through April 2028. The deployment will feature five ships, including the return of MSC Splendida to Buenos Aires and the regional debut of MSC Meraviglia, according to a report from mercado.com.ar.

Brazilian ports of call for the season include Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Camboriú, Itajaí, Salvador, and Maceió. Itineraries will cover destinations in Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, designed for diverse traveler profiles from families to couples and solo travelers.

MSC Splendida returns to Buenos Aires

MSC Splendida will operate from Buenos Aires on eight and nine-night itineraries. Ports of call will include Brazilian and Uruguayan destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Búzios, Ilhabela, Ilha Grande, Balneário Camboriú, and Punta del Este, with varying combinations depending on the specific voyage.

Onboard amenities include seven international restaurants, among them the Sea Pavilion specializing in contemporary Asian cuisine and Butcher's Cut. The ship also features bars and lounges, four swimming pools, and 12 whirlpools. Entertainment options consist of a theater, a sports court, a 4D cinema, and the MSC Formula Racer simulator, plus dedicated spaces for children and teenagers. The MSC Aurea Spa offers wellness treatments, while the MSC Yacht Club provides private areas, personalized service, and 24-hour butler and concierge attention.

MSC Meraviglia makes regional debut

MSC Meraviglia will begin seven-night itineraries starting December 10, 2027, calling at Punta del Este, Balneário Camboriú, and Santos. The ship will also offer three and four-night mini-cruises from Santos, with alternating calls at Búzios and Ilha Grande, plus six to eight-night options embarking from both Santos and Buenos Aires, visiting destinations in Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina.

Spanning 19 decks, the ship features the Galleria Meraviglia, a two-level indoor promenade with restaurants, bars, shops, and meeting spaces. Dining venues include Butcher's Cut, Kaito Sushi Bar, Kaito Teppanyaki, Hola! Tacos & Cantina, and Ocean Cay, specializing in fish and seafood. The vessel also has four pools-one with a retractable roof-a water park, nine whirlpools, a gym equipped with Technogym equipment, and the MSC Aurea Spa.

Booking promotion

As part of the sales launch, guests who book a balcony cabin will receive complimentary drinks for the duration of their cruise.

The regional fleet is completed by MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina, and MSC Musica, all operating from the various Brazilian home ports.
