Norwegian Sky's Final NCL Voyage Saw Venues Close Early
Norwegian Sky concluded its final voyage for Norwegian Cruise Line with several onboard venues closed or operating on a limited schedule as the ship

Norwegian Sky ended its final voyage for Norwegian Cruise Line on September 9, 2026. The 2,004-passenger ship arrived in Piraeus, Greece, after a 9-night Mediterranean sailing that began in Barcelona on August 31.
Days before embarkation, guests received an email from Norwegian Cruise Line warning of adjustments. "As part of preparations taking place following this cruise, a limited number of onboard venues, services, and activities will be adjusted during your sailing," the line stated. This led to the closure of several key amenities throughout the farewell cruise.
Limited Onboard Services
The ship's gift shops were completely unavailable for the entire voyage. Passengers could not purchase branded merchandise to commemorate the final sailing.
The Art Gallery operated only through the evening of September 2, closing after the call in Livorno. Spa services were also curtailed. The Mandara Spa ceased operations on September 7, two days before the cruise ended. The cruise line automatically cancelled and refunded any bookings made for September 8.
Norwegian Cruise Line also advised passengers requiring mobility scooters, wheelchairs, or respiratory equipment to make arrangements prior to boarding. Additional inventory was not available for rental during the voyage.
An Unexpected Finale
This voyage was not originally planned as the ship's last for NCL. Norwegian Sky was scheduled for a 21-day repositioning cruise to Dubai beginning September 9. Ongoing regional tensions led to multiple itinerary changes.
The cruise was first shortened to 18 days, with debarkation moved to Muscat, Oman. It was subsequently cancelled for passengers in August 2026. This cancellation made the August 31 Mediterranean sailing the vessel's final passenger cruise under the Norwegian brand.
Transfer to Cordelia Cruises
After docking in Piraeus, Norwegian Sky will be prepared for transfer to Cordelia Cruises. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings announced the charter of Norwegian Sky and its sister ship, Norwegian Sun, to the Indian cruise line in April 2025.
The 77,104-gross-ton vessel will be rebranded as Cordelia Sky. It is scheduled to debut in October 2026, operating 3- to 5-night voyages from Mumbai to Goa. Cordelia Cruises' website shows the ship will retain its distinctive floral hull artwork.
The transfer concludes a long career with Norwegian Cruise Line. The Sun-class ship first entered service in 1999. It was briefly renamed Pride of Aloha for NCL America's Hawaii operations from 2004 to 2008. The vessel underwent major refurbishments in 2019 and 2024.
