MSC World Asia to Feature Five New Bars on 2026 Debut
MSC Cruises has revealed five new bar concepts for its upcoming flagship, MSC World Asia, which will begin seven-night Mediterranean sailings in December

MSC Cruises has unveiled five new bars and lounges set to debut on its new flagship, the 215,863-gross-ton MSC World Asia. The vessel will enter service on December 4, 2026, with a seven-night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona.
According to the cruise line, the new venues range from a family-friendly soda bar to a cocktail lounge inspired by Asian flavors. The ship will accommodate 6,758 passengers and will feature 13 new or reimagined experiences compared to its sister ship, MSC World Europa.
New Bar Concepts and Experiences
The five new venues are the Clubhouse and Soda Bar, Sky Box Bar, The Terraces Bar & Lounge, Coral Cove Bar, and Pan Asian Bar. Each offers a distinct atmosphere and beverage selection.
The Clubhouse and Soda Bar is a nostalgic, family-friendly space inspired by the 1980s and 1990s. Guests can create custom non-alcoholic soda concoctions by choosing a base and adding cream, flavorings, and toppings. The venue features games, interactive digital tables, and a LEGO area. In the evening, it transitions to a livelier social spot offering cocktails and mocktails.
In the Luna Park Arena, the Sky Box Bar will serve premium drinks and cocktails. Inspired by early 20th-century Futurism, it reimagines classic cocktails with a contemporary twist and theatrical presentation.
Italian and Asian-Inspired Venues
For a relaxed atmosphere, The Terraces Bar & Lounge offers an Italian aperitivo experience. Guests can enjoy classic cocktails, wines, prosecco, and light Italian bites like focaccia and olives alongside panoramic ocean views and live music. The venue will also host expert-led wine tasting sessions.
The Coral Cove Bar, located within the indoor Coral Cove Pool area, serves classic drinks. Its design takes inspiration from Philippine coral reefs. The pool features a retractable glass roof, allowing the bar to be used in all weather conditions.
Overlooking the Promenade, the previously announced Pan Asian Street Food restaurant will feature the Pan Asian Bar. This bar will offer drinks inspired by Asian flavors, such as Jasmine Mojitos, Rose and Strawberry Daiquiris, and Matcha Coladas. It will also serve Asian beers, including a house draft beer called Oceanic Asian, which is brewed at sea.
Ship Construction and Asian Influences
Construction of MSC World Asia began with a steel-cutting ceremony at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in April 2024. The ship floated out of the shipyard for the first time in November 2025, a major construction milestone.
Architecture, dining, and onboard experiences are inspired by Asian culture, art, and landscapes. In June 2026, Cruise Hive reported on the installation of the massive Tree of Life, an illuminated focal point in The Harbour area. Inspired by Singapore's Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay, the structure is also the starting point for The Spiral at Tree of Life, which will be the longest dry slide at sea.
Another Asia-inspired feature is the Dragon, an illuminated sculpture hanging above the Promenade that was installed in August 2026.
Initial Mediterranean Itinerary
Despite its Asian-themed design, MSC World Asia's initial deployment will be in Europe. The inaugural seven-night voyage from Barcelona on December 4, 2026, will visit Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Messina, and Valletta before returning to Barcelona on December 11. The ship will offer regular seven-night Mediterranean itineraries from ports in Spain, France, Italy, and Malta.
