Havila Voyages Partners with Ocean Bottle for Sustainable Travel Souvenirs

Havila Voyages has introduced a new partnership with Ocean Bottle, offering guests a specially designed, eco-friendly bottle available for purchase in the onboard shop. The bottle features a map of the Norwegian coastline, highlighting key landmarks and all 34 ports from Bergen to Kirkenes, celebrating the historic coastal route. ## A Shared Commitment to Sustainability According to Will Pearson, co-founder of Ocean Bottle, the partnership reflects a shared mission to prevent plastic waste from entering the ocean while promoting positive environmental and social impact. "The alignment between our values and those at Havila Voyages made this collaboration feel natural," Pearson stated. "Together, we aim to make reuse a central part of the travel experience while supporting coastal communities and ocean health." Lasse A. Vangstein, chief communications and sustainability officer at Havila Voyages, emphasized the company’s responsibility to protect vulnerable ecosystems. "Sustainability is a collective effort," Vangstein said. "This partnership with Ocean Bottle shows how tourism can drive meaningful change, allowing guests to take home not just memories but a tool that benefits the planet." ## Features and Environmental Impact The Havila-branded Ocean Bottle is designed for durability and functionality, made from 90 percent recycled stainless steel and fully dishwasher-safe. It includes a smart dual-opening system, making it a practical and long-lasting souvenir. Havila has already banned single-use plastics across its fleet, and this collaboration further reinforces its commitment to sustainability. Beyond waste reduction, the partnership focuses on closing circular loops by using recycled materials and intercepting plastic waste along coastlines. This initiative generates measurable environmental benefits while supporting local collectors who gather plastic waste, creating a positive impact for both the ocean and communities.
