MSC Cruises has notified guests of an earlier departure for the MSC Seashore on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The ship will now leave Port Canaveral at 4:30 p.m. EST, 30 minutes ahead of its original 5 p.m. schedule.

According to an email sent to booked passengers, the cruise line stated the change was due to operational reasons. The email asked guests to arrive at their assigned check-in time shown on their latest e-ticket and no later than 2:30 p.m. EST to ensure a smooth embarkation process.

Embarkation Details and Itinerary

The vessel's doors will close promptly at 3:30 p.m. EST. Once closed, no late arrivals are permitted to board. This is standard procedure for cruise ships, even if loading operations for supplies, cargo, or luggage are still underway.

The 5,632-guest MSC Seashore is scheduled for a seven-night Western Caribbean and Bahamas voyage. The itinerary includes calls at Nassau, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and MSC's private island, Ocean Cay Marine Reserve. No other changes to this itinerary have been announced.

Port Canaveral Schedule

The schedule change places the MSC Seashore among a busy day of departures from Port Canaveral. Five homeported ships are scheduled to sail on September 6, 2026: MSC Seashore, Disney Fantasy, Norwegian Prima, Caribbean Princess, and Star of the Seas. According to the port's schedule, departure times for all five ships range from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that day.

Both the MSC Seashore and Star of the Seas will be departing at 4:30 p.m. The MSC Seashore is planned for Cruise Terminal 10 on the port's west end, while Star of the Seas will be using Cruise Terminal 1, in the center of the port.

Potential Reasons for the Change

MSC Cruises has not provided specific details behind the operational reasons for the earlier sailaway. Port Canaveral is a multi-use facility handling commercial shipping, fishing vessels, SpaceX booster recoveries, and local boating traffic.

Conflicts with these other operations may have necessitated the schedule adjustment. Factors like pilot availability or refueling schedules could also be involved. Cruise Hive, the source of this report, notes that other lines have made similar changes. For instance, Carnival Cruise Line adjusted nearly 200 cruises in November 2024 for earlier departure times on two different ships. Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas also moved its embarkation at Cape Liberty up by one hour on August 17, 2025, due to military exercises.

Guests are advised to plan ample travel time to reach the terminal by the new deadline to avoid missing the ship.
