Seatrade Cruise Asia 2026 Conference Set for Malaysia
The Seatrade Cruise Asia 2026 conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia, from November 16-20, 2026.

The Seatrade Cruise Asia 2026 conference will take place in Malaysia for the first time. The event runs from November 16 to November 20, 2026.
Hosted in partnership with MMC Port Holdings Berhad, Malaysia's largest cruise terminal operator, the conference is supported by the Malaysian government. The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture are closely involved.
Event Format and Locations
The main conference program will occur in Kuala Lumpur on November 16 and 17. Sessions and networking will be based at the Waldorf Astoria hotel.
A separate Penang Island Excursion is scheduled for November 18 and 19. This optional segment is open to a limited number of participants. It will shows Penang as a culinary and cruise destination.
The excursion includes a demonstration of rail connectivity, a ferry ride to Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal, and a luncheon on a cruise vessel. An island tour and an evening networking event with local food are also planned.
Exploring Regional Cruise Potential
The conference theme is 'A New Era of Opportunity.' It seeks to move beyond post-pandemic recovery. Organizers will focus on emerging trends across Asia.
More than 35 cruise brands currently sail in Asia-Pacific waters. The fleet ranges from small luxury yachts and expedition ships to large contemporary vessels carrying over 5,000 passengers. The next decade is seen as holding significant potential for regional cruise growth.
Key topics for discussion include regional ship deployment and achieving year-round operations. The agenda also covers fly-cruise demand, port operations, and destination development. Responsible growth and creating lasting local value are further points of examination.
Emma Bond, Global Events Director for Seatrade Cruise, commented on the plans. "We are delighted to bring Seatrade Cruise Asia to Malaysia in 2026," Bond said. She noted the event offers a chance to experience two of the country's finest destinations.
