Sea Cloud Cruises restructures leadership
Sea Cloud Cruises has restructured its corporate leadership, bringing shareholder Maximilian Block into management and elevating Ralph de Klijn to owner's

Sea Cloud Cruises has restructured its corporate leadership team as part of a wider corporate reorganization. Shareholder Maximilian Block has joined the management team, while veteran cruise executive Ralph de Klijn has moved from an advisory role to become owner's representative.
The appointments are part of a corporate restructure that brings the owners together under a holding company umbrella. Victoria Seidel and Adam Pazdzioch remain part of the existing management team.
Expansion and new technologies
Maximilian Block stated the changes are strategic. "Sea Cloud Cruises is a strong brand with a long tradition and an exceptional product." he said.
Ralph de Klijn outlined growth plans. "We aim to expand our business in our existing core markets and strengthen our presence in additional international markets," he said. De Klijn added that the company will make targeted investments in new technologies to support this goal.
The DACH region, comprising Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, remains a key market. The company is also growing its business in the US and other international markets. Recently, Kevin Smith was appointed president for the Americas, reporting directly to de Klijn.
New advisory board formed
An advisory board will support the management team on strategic issues and corporate development. Heino Schmidt, a long-standing former member of the Hamburg Süd management board, will serve as its chairman.
Other board members include Hermann Ebel, who is moving from operational management to the board, and Oliver Förster, a partner at the Hamburg law firm Huth Dietrich Hahn.
Executive backgrounds
Maximilian Block has been involved in Sea Cloud Cruises' development for several years. His experience spans shipping as a broker, finance, and corporate development. He played a key role in the establishment, development, and sale of the real estate company PROIMMO, which he co-founded.
Ralph de Klijn brings over 25 years of experience in premium and luxury cruise operations. He has held commercial and operational management roles at Viking, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Seabourn, and Silversea. De Klijn previously served as COO for Compagnie Française de Croisières and founded the consultancy iStrive.
